The general guidelines are as follows:
- Accept e-mail submissions only, preferably pasted into the body of an e-mail.
- Response time may range anywhere from 3--8 weeks or less.
- All material found within "Off Beat Pulp" remains the exclusive property of the author or artist and may not be reproduced in any form without the consent of the author.
- Simultaneous submissions are pretty much FROWNED UPON. It's not fair to all the hard working editors in the small press/lit-zine universe.
- Poetry:
- Two to five poems may be submitted during one period.
- Short Stories:
- Two pieces at the most and try to keep the word count under 5000. I may take a submission longer, though it's fighting an uphill battle.
- Flash Fiction/Postcard Prose:
- No more than three short prose pieces should be submitted at a time. Word count should be under 1000 words.
- Art/Photography:
- Keep it to around three submitted at a time.
- Guest Editorials:
- Just send along one or two and try to keep the work count under 1500. I realize you have something to say and I encourage you to say it, but let's not turn a rant into a ramble, okay?
- Photo Essays:
- Send us YOUR work, and YOUR work only!
- Don't try so hard your images lose all meaning.
- Don't try and be Ansel Adams. We have nothing against the late, great Mr. Adams, but he nailed being Ansel Adams, we don't need another.
- Go have fun and create something cool.
- Your images do not need to be brand new, they can be something you created 20 years ago at camp.
- They do have to be unpublished. We at Off Beat Pulp want to be the first to showcase your work.
- We are not liable for any problems that may arise from your images WHATSOEVER.
- Images cannot be more than 900 px wide at 72 dpi.
- Please send photos in jpeg format.
- No More than 12 photos per Essay submission.
- Off Beat Post Cards:
- Other Stuff: Just send it. Keep it reasonable. If we like it, we'll make room for it.
Get on it. Don't hesitate. Act.
